Legal action

San Mateo County and its 20 cities and towns, Alpine County and Mono County previously filed legal action to assert their VLF rights. The litigation has since been withdrawn as the County seeks to keep working with the Legislature and other partners on a permanent legislative solution. The withdrawal does not change the position of the counties and cities that the funding shortfall must be permanently resolved.
